L.R.E. donates $10K to American Heart Association

BROOKSVILLE, FLA. – L.R.E. Ground Services has donated $10,000 to the American Heart Association as a major sponsor of the L.R.E. Ground Services Barrett Ruud-Pewter Report Charity Golf Tournament, which took place recently at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Pasco County.

The third year L.R.E. – 21228 Powell Road, Brooksville – has been involved in this fund-raising effort, this is the first year it has been the tourney’s major sponsor.  The event was established in memory of 52-year-old Jaime Ruud – mother of Tampa Bay Buccaneer Barrett Ruud – who died of a heart attack in 2006.

According to company spokesperson Susan Woolever, sponsoring this golf tournament is part of L.R.E.’s ongoing program of charitable donations and involvement in Florida communities where it operates.  This includes support for the Relay for Life, the Special Olympics and a number of other charity golf tournaments.

The Dallas-based American Heart Association is a non-profit organization that promotes education about cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke.

A volunteer agency with chapters throughout the United States, it establishes standards for basic and advanced life support … including the proper performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR … and also provides first-aid training.

Founded in 1989 by Raymond D. and Susan Woolever in Brooksville, Fla., L.R.E. Ground Services Inc. is one of the largest foundation-repair and piering firms in Florida.  It specializes in everything from sinkhole repairs to soil stabilization, and has completed more than 2,800 residential and commercial projects since the 1980s.
