Hernando Builders Association presents check for Florida Sheriff Youth Ranches

Jeff West, President of the Hernando Builders Association presented Major Mike Maurer of the Hernando County Sheriffs Office a check for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch at their June General Membership Meeting.  The HBA Sporting Clays Tournament donated a portion of the proceeds from this year’s event to the Sheriff’s charity. The Sheriffs office sends volunteer deputies to this event to keep score for the shooters in the tournament. 

This is the third year the Sheriffs Office and the HBA have teamed up for the Sporting Clays Tournament, and the third year a check has been presented to the Florida’s Sheriffs Youth Ranch from the HBA.

Major Maurer  accepted the check on behalf of the Sheriff. He told the members in attendance a story about a boy he had helped with getting into the Youth Ranch program and the difference it makes in the lives of the boys who attend the Ranch.
